Not much information about Deckle Beach here other than it is a small, mostly fishing and boating hideaway for retirees/fisherman and those that just want to get away. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere and the folks that live there like it that way. The closest town and reasonable shopping is Perry, up on Highway 19/98.

Deckle Beach is located on Boggy Bay, a little bay surrounded by salt marshes on the Gulf of Mexico. There has been lots of controversy here about a development called Magnolia Bay that was proposed and could have done lots of harm to this delecate environment. It was soundly defeated in mid 2007.
