Florida's Pure Water Wilderness is an unspoiled, three-county cluster of Mother Nature's finest work. In just over 2,000 square miles, the region is laced, dotted, etched and framed by some of Florida's most precious liquid assets. From the Waccasassa, Withlacoochee and Steinhatchee, to the Santa Fe and historic Suwannee, rivers run wild and free here, carving county lines and chasing their way to the glistening Gulf of Mexico. Lakes, ponds, creeks and springs adorn the landscape with their cool, crystal clear shallows and mysterious, shadowy depths.

Few regions of Florida are as blessed by Nature as the Suwannee River Valley. An unspoiled cluster of virgin woods and water, the valley contains the highest concentration of freshwater springs on the entire planet. Florida has 320 springs, more than half along the Santa Fe & Suwannee Rivers. Pure Water Wilderness is proud to introduce you to its sparkling springs!

Five main rivers flow through Florida's Pure Water Wilderness area, irrigating its fertile land, providing a perfect eco habitat for numerous species and creating a perfect place for natural recreation.

The Suwannee River Valley area's coast is dominated by nature, with humans as scarce as wildlife is abundant. Gentle Gulf waters lap scores of uninhabited, mostly protected keys that are home to hundreds of thousands of nesting shorebirds, including the elusive roseate spoonbill and bald eagle.

Florida's Pure Water Wilderness is home to some of the best boating and fishing in the world. Enjoy unspoiled nature at her finest in the Gulf of Mexico, the inland waters of the five rivers in the region, or the grass estuaries and hammocks. Every good fisherman knows the best bait shops, boat ramps and marinas. All the information you need to have a good fishing trip is on our website.
